Riitta Ikonen
The work if Riitta Ikonen is both surreal and hilarious. Her own words describe it best: “My work is concerned with the performance of images, through photography and costume design. Certain items, usually small and insignificant, excite me to the point where I have to wear them and then document that process. The super- garments I make open up new experiences. In my costumes tremendous things happen – to me and to the people I work with. Today I exploded an egg in the microwave. Next, I want to make an egg costume.” Read the full interview, and check out her stuff. Via Cool Hunting.

To The Point
As much as people complain about the digital age dumbing down our communication, there is something to be said for wit found in short doses. Everything’s more compact – our phones, our computers, our words. Now you can win an award for it. Also, the One Sentence Archive is host to some of the best one-liners this old girl has heard.
Breathe Inn
When Winter hits NYC, I often think how nice it would be to have a little house somewhere just to get away. Breathe Inn seems like the next best thing – it’s like going to your fabulously stylish friend’s house in the country + room service and no hostess gift required. Interestingly enough, it was started by the original (although no longer involved with the company) founder of Triple 5 Soul. Inspiring.
