Wool And The Gang

Wool And The Gang recently opened their first US store in NYC – the collective is a chic stitch-n-bitch, offering their unique wool, patterns, and already-knitted creations with a fashion forward sensability. It ain’t your grandma’s knitting, but according to their website those of all ages are encouraged to join the gang.

The Things That Women Can Be

An all-important anthem via Sesame Street.

Roebling Tea Room

Sometimes the gems you stumble upon by chance are the best and brightest ones. After a trip to Black Betty in Willy-b proved fruitless, our party made their way one block over to the Roebling Tea Room for a birthday dinner. The ambiance of this spot alone will have me calling again, but the food is amazing to boot. Highly reccommend the carrot & ginger soup if they have it on special, and sea bass & trout items from the menu had smiles going all around. Plus their impressive tea list lives up to the restaurant’s name. Go do it!

Cara Osborn

The work of Cara Osborn is a mix between the supremely surreal and the extremely life like. While her prints are available online, I don’t think the site does these detailed works justice. I saw her stuff at the Brooklyn Flea, Dumbo. Highly suggest you see them in person, really beautiful stuff.

Mast Brothers Chocolate

A chocolate renaissance seems to be underfoot in NYC. More and more chocolatiers are popping up, and the old standbys are quickly adapting to the growing market. Mast Brothers Chocolate just opened their doors in Williamsburg, and are the only bean to bar chocolate makers in the city. I’m willing to try, from the looks of their photo, they’re serious about their sweets.

The 99% Conference

“When ideas do happen, it is not by accident. What separates creative people who make their ideas happen from the constant dreamers? Perhaps we all have an obligation to show our ideas some respect. Behance is partnering with Cool Hunting to host “99%.” A conference that focuses less on inspiration, and more on how idea generation and organization come together to make ideas happen.” Read more about the scheduled speakers.

Ann Wood

Ann Wood’s fairy tale creations have graced cake tops to window displays. I particularly love her cardboard castles and cloth birds.

Shinzi Katoh Toilet Cover Sets

“Cute” and “Toilet” hardly ever make their way into a sentence together…enter Shinzi Katoh. Her cuter than thou toilet cover sets are quite possibly the best toilet get-ups I’ve seen. Peace Target, I’ve found a new mate for my porcelain.

Nylon Dunks

I’m not a huge sneaker gal, although I have been known to wear a pair of dunks until the laces fall off. Nylon and Nike have collabo’d for the release of their very own shoe available this June. No word yet if Electric Blueberry or Circus Orange will be available as well…

Faile

“Our process of creating work involves synthesizing images to create visually visceral experiences, very similar to the way a DJ samples beats to create an audible experience.” Behold the work of the Brooklyn based art & design collective, Faile.
