Alejandra Laviada

The photography of Alejandra Laviada conjurs a sense of melencholy with it’s intense color and graphic composition. Her latest series of photosculpture features several abandoned objects, and makes you appreciate the design of the subject, as much as their dilapidated setting. The above is taken from her Typeologies series. Thanks to Cool Hunting for putting [...]

Dotty Dot Trays

I had a Care Bears breakfast-in-bed tray that I have very fond Mister Rogers memories about. Plus, I’ve always thought trays were underrated and should’ve put a few on the ol’ wedding registry when I had the chance. London-based Dotty Dot has a host of quirky trays that include the Day Dreamer, Black Forest, Doll [...]

Cog & Pearl

This is an oldie, but goodie. Cog & Pearl has been a staple in Park Slope Brooklyn for years now, but it’s worth noting that they continuously provide shoppers with the best in hand and locally made wares, and as aesthetics go, their store ensures one of the most plesant shopping experiences on the 5th [...]

Toadstool Cottage & Mushroom House

Two words: unbearably cute. The creator of these cuter-than-thou fabric toadstool & mushroom houses is not only talented and wicked with felt and needle, but has posted the how-to so you can have these in your life. Impress your frog friends with their life-like detail. Embroidery skills are a plus.
I know you were thinking it: [...]

Vosges Haut Chocolat

I’m particularly partial to anything with a Mariachi on it (if you can find a good cheap one in NYC, please let me know, I’ll be 30 in a few years and I’m planning a party). Vosges Chocolates offers their Red-Fire Toffee here, one in a slew of delictable products with a twist + they [...]

One Good Bumblebee

Holidays ‘08 are all about cheap gifts: One Good Bumblebee has cute stuff, but mostly loved their “Paper & Books” section, where I found these Vintage Postage Stamps, and the must-have Mini Piles of Paper. This eye candy ephemera makes me wanna write some letters or do some scrapbooking. Glue stick anyone?
PS: Also peep their [...]

Lizette Greco

I’ve dabbled in stuffed-animal-making, and it’s usually one of those things that you get into for a couple of months, and end up with a headless multi-colored snuggle buddy in your closet, waiting for his dome piece to be pieced together and sewn on…but I digress.
Some people making amazing stuffed-things, and upon my weekly mining [...]
